Book Deconstructions
Welcome to my pride and joy – my deconstructions. The place where I take book analysis to the next level. Throughout my writing journey, one piece of advice has popped up more times than I can count: read in your genre and see how they do what you want to. So, I’m doing exactly that. I’ll be dissecting books (both old loves and new favourites) to find out what makes them tick. I’ll be laying out everything I find so you can learn along with me! Having trouble identifying what the inciting incident, or the all is lost moment of a particular book is? Interested in whether your favourite character has gone through a complete character arc, or better yet, an appropriate one for the genre and target market? You’ll find all of this and more in each in-depth series. I’ll be breaking down the details into smaller, easily digestible posts so you can binge them all at once, or read them weekly as they’re released. So what genres will I be covering? Romance is my true love so most (but not all) of the books I read have a love story of some sort in them. I adore YA and NA fiction (though not a genre, it’s good to know what books I’ll be most focused on). But I do read in most genres so you might see a little bit of everything as we go. Have a particular book you’d like dissected? Hop on over to the contact page and send me a message! I’ll see what I can do.
